Vistas on the Gulf 501

There were 6 of us there for a birthday vacation, the sleeper couch is BROKEN, broken for sleeping and broken for sitting, so no bed for 2 of us and no couch for 6 of us the whole stay! The microwave is broken, blinds are broken, coffee machine broken, coffee mugs broken, dishes broken, we were scared to touch anything as it will fall apart. Property maintenance came and took pictures and were very nice but also know previously that everything in the unit was broken! There were not enough pillows or blankets for 6, not enough towels for 6, just shotty all togehter! The views and sunsets were amazing and it is a perfect location but the inside is FAR FROM COMFORTABLE for staying and using. Would not recommend UNIT 501 but heard that other units are much better, would recommend the location but NOT THE UNIT

We stayed in Unit 501 and were told ahead of time it wasn’t as updated as other units, which didn’t bother us—we just wanted a great view of the Gulf, and that part did not disappoint. The view was truly spectacular.

Unfortunately, the unit itself had many issues. The microwave handle was broken, blinds on every window were damaged, and we had to hang a blanket over the bedroom window for privacy and to block the light—since there were no blankets provided, we had to request some from the office. The master bedroom had a moth problem, with several dead and live moths, even one in our bed. The smoke detector in that room was missing.

The guest room door was barely hanging on its hinges. Most electrical outlets didn’t work, and some sparked when used. Several lamps were nonfunctional, and the living room throw rug was so filthy and stiff that we had to move it to avoid stepping on it with bare feet. In one bathroom, turning on the tub faucet also activated the shower with no way to stop it—unexpected and inconvenient.

The bath towels were heavily frayed, and the stove light got extremely hot, potentially a fire hazard. To top it off, people were smoking right below our balcony, which wasn’t ideal.

With a little maintenance and attention, this unit could be much better. The view deserves a better space to match it. We didn't expect updated flooring & appliances, and that was okay with us! But the other issues were difficult to ignore, especially for the price we paid. Management is awesome! Always so friendly & helpful! We love the maintenance guy, Mark. We will return, but not to this unit!

Unit was very dated and dirty. Furniture cushions were stained and blind in master bedroom was broken. Management said the owner is responsible for fixing so we had to hang a towel over them for the entire stay. The elevator sounded awful every time we took it. There are no guest parking spots so that’s a problem is you are having guests. The views from the unit are fantastic and the location to area restaurants and attractions are great. Recommend finding a different unit until the owners invest in this one.
